Speaking of queries, it’s no secret that more and more agents are closing off their open submissions policies. But there are still some bright spots, you just have to look closely for them.
On that note, following is a list 10 agents who are currently open to queries from new writers. This list is from my Get an Agent Guide, which offers up 100 agents who are currently accepting queries.

Thanks for the generous offer, and for sharing these agent names.
Now that is some helpful stuff there! I wish there was an agent directory that categorized by genre. I have found “Fantasy” to be a very underrepresented genre.
Thank you so much for sharing this list, Maria. And I would love one of your “Get and Agent Guides;” we writers need all the guidance to getting an agent that peeps-in-the know are willing to share!
Wow, thanks for the list!
I’d love a copy as well. Thanks for the tip!
Now that I’ve commented, I can go RT this.
I always take any help I can get when it comes to getting the agents to take a look!
Nifty! Thanks for the breakdown. It’s helpful to have someone sort of say, “Okay, I know there’s a lot of chaos out there and everything going in 360 directions, but check this way.”

Hi! Great list. If I don’t win the book, I’ll buy it. Thanks.
I think I’m reading your more on twitter than the blog these days. But good luck with the e-book!
Thank you. I’ve been enjoying you on Twitter~
How do you get the list of 100 if you are not in the top ten.
Ah, If I can get off my keister and finish what I’ve been writing, this list will come in handy.
Thanks for this Maria!

Found you via Twitter, and this list is quite helpful. Thanks!
You say these are E-friendly agents. Does that mean they only use the internet to publish or they will accept only email queries or what? Please explain.
DArn, I was in the shower and missed the tweet. But thanks for the list.
@L.L.,
By e-friendly I mean they accept email queries, though some do take postal queries as well.

LOL, that’s precious.
It’s a great guide, folks. I reviewed it on my blog. http://www.jmstrother.com/tiki-view_blog_post.php?blogId=1&postId=111

Hi Maria,
I’ll be ready to invest in this sort of list once I’ve got a MS I feel is ready to be sold.
Thank you for your hard work on our behalf.

Maria,
I’m so glad folks came by to see this. Since last Friday there are folks who have told me how valuable this e-book has been for them.
Cheers!
George
Thanks for posting! Interesting that aside from Ginger who specifically handles “paranormal” romance, none of these are romance fiction agents. Wonder if everyone’s just full up on those or what?
This is such a good idea. I look forward to your book.

Hi Maria,
This is a wonderful post. I’m sorry I did not get here sooner. I’ve been seeking an agent for all of my material. You may go onto my site and view the synopsis for the most recent, and comments I did received from purchasers, which is featured on the Home Page, along with the news video. It is a non-fiction, however, I have one fiction novel and two detective genre, short stories.
Now that I know this site exists, I do feel good about coming back.

howza bout an agent who handles children’s books! What are we? Chopped chicken liver?
