Writing Prompt: Christmas Story retelling

by mariaschneider on December 1, 2008

Have you ever secretly wished that Scrooge had stayed stingy or that Cindy Lou Who hadn’t seen the Grinch stealing those Christmas presents?

Now is your chance to retell a classic Christmas story your way—in 500 words or less. You can post your stories here in the comments or on the forum.

Seasons Greetings!

Unrelated to this post, I just want to say I really like the new layout for your blog. I wonder if your forum software is customizable enough to replace the vBulletin banner with the same banner up top here. It would really make the whole thing look like a unified whole.

Nice job.

I wish someone would come up with a story that made sense for The Nutcracker. Love the music, hate the story.

I like the format too, easier to read for those old eyes. I would like the link to the forum to be at the top of the page–just lazy, but it would be nice to not have to scroll to the bottom of the page to jump in. Thanks.

Don’t get the HTML tags at the bottom, are those the list that Jon came up with?

I love the picture! I really want to do this Christmas story prompt, but I’ve got too many other assignments from my day job this week. Rats!

Hi Maria, I’ve got another unrelated comment for you :) Just wanted to invite you over for a fun little Christmas giveaway on my blog. Thought you might want to throw your name in the pot :) Happy December!
